This week in Valmiera, Latvia we officially started the new BBBL 2023-2024 season!

10 teams participated in the first stage.

Final results for first stage:

  8. KK Askus/Jetoil/Orissaare – 2/3
  9. Visagino KM – 0/5
  10. Basketbola klase / BS Riga – 0/5

 

Undefeated KK Viimsi team head coach Martin Toomas summarizes the first stage:

  1. How do You rate Your team’s performance in the first stage?

First games this season and performance was bit clumsy. We played one very good game against Valmiera and average game against Rezekne, other three games were below average.

  1. Against which opponent You had the most difficult game?

Against Rezekne – good even game. It was a lottery, this time luck was on our side.

  1. Was there anything that Your team can improve in the next stages?

In U-14 category You can improve all the parts of the game :)

 

On Saturday’s evening, we had three point shot contest and coach contest. KK Viimsi team won the 3 point shot contest, while in coach contest Igors Golovka (Rezeknes BJSS) showed the best results winning the final against Siim Palu (Rae SK / Kiili SK).

In U14 (2010) category 22 teams total have registered from 5 countries:

 

Latvia (8) – Basketbola klase / BS Riga, Basketbola klase, Bertanu Valmieras BS, BS Tukums, DSN, Liepaja, Rezeknes BJSS and Jelgavas BJSS.

 

Estonia (9) – Altius, Keila BS, KK Askus Jetoil/Orissaare, KK Viimsi/Kesklinna KK/GAG, Rae SK/Kiili SK, Rapla BS, BC Kalev Cramo/KK Sokud, Tartu University and Viljandi SK.

 

Lithuania (2) – Siauliai, Visagino KM

 

Georgia (2) – Tbilisi Basket, BC Kutaisi

 

Finland (1) – BC Nokia

 

We remind that last season’s BBBL champions in 2010 age group were Siauliai (coach Egidijus Vasiliauskas) and Finals MVP was Armandas Palčiauskas.
